This contest was created to highlight female trainees, a historically under represented demographic. |
We would love to highlight our Fellows in Training (FIT) members. FIT are invited to submit research abstracts and educational case reports to the Mid-Atlantic WIC Conference. Submitted research abstracts will be considered for the Mid-Atlantic WIC conference best poster contest.
Eligible competitors
All female adult and pediatric cardiology fellows who are currently enrolled in a training program in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington DC or West Virginia chapters are eligible.
Timing and Abstract Submission
Abstracts may represent work in progress or may have been previously submitted for publication or presentation at a national meeting in 2023. Further, abstracts submitted in this competition are not precluded from submission for future publication or presentation. The poster competition is part of a regional meeting and, clearly, will not preclude the fellow from submitting the abstract in a future endeavor. Please note: a maximum of two submissions will be considered per first author. If more than two are submitted, only the first two submissions will be reviewed. Abstracts are to be submitted electronically via Oxford Abstracts by March 13, 2023. Paper and emailed copies will not be accepted.
Abstract Review, Selection and Notification
Submitted abstracts will be reviewed by a Chapter panel of cardiologists. Selected abstracts will be chosen for an in-person poster gallery where participants will stand with their poster to present and discuss their research with the meeting attendees. Notifications will be sent on or after March 20, 2023.
